Using Time Tracking Software for your Employees

If you have a business with employees, chances are you know the importance of reliable time clocks. They’re necessary for ensuring you pay your hourly employees what you owe them and that people are showing up and leaving when they’re supposed to. But don’t get hung up on the only method you know. Modern technology has made a lot of advances with employee time clock software.

Many companies, for example, have done away with physical timecards. There are any number of reasons a business might do so, one of which might be the simple replacement options available. One of these is a time clock that actually scans a physical badge. So instead of your employees submitting their time card and punching it, they can simply run their badge over a scanner that takes note of the time the badge was run.

Another option scans your employees’ fingerprints. When you first roll the system out, each employee will scan their fingerprint for the machine to register. Then, going forward, whenever they clock in or out, they simply use that same finger. The machine scans it just as it would a badge and takes down the time of submission. The advantage with this method is that your employees can’t sign someone else in or out.

There are many options for today’s employer when it comes to tracking their employees’ hours. Ultimately, the best choice will be unique to you, your company and its employees.
